Biography
Alex Dumas holds a PhD in Kinesiology (sociology) at the University of Montreal and has pursued postdoctoral research at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Cambridge. Drawing on sociocultural approaches, his research program is composed of two distinct areas. First, he studies health/lifestyle inequalities (cardiac rehabilitation, nutrition and physical activities) while emphasizing the health of various vulnerable populations (underprivileged men/women, men with heart diseases, clinically obese women, pregnant/postmenopausal women and aging populations). Secondly, he studies the economic, political, ethical and social aspects of aging populations. His work aims to implement policies in the areas of research, health promotion and disease prevention.
