Biography
Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing at the Université du Québec en Outaouais, Professor Nazon holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Ottawa. Her doctoral project involved a critical historical analysis of the development of the nursing profession and discipline, and the construction of nursing knowledge in Quebec. For almost ten years, she has taught undergraduate courses on adult health and medical-surgical nursing. At the graduate level, she examines the ethics and epistemological process of the nursing discipline and the construction of knowledge and nurses. On the research front, she has a broad interest in the nursing workforce, with a particular focus on the roles, skills and knowledge of nurses in care settings. Her research program covers the social and political role of nurses in care settings, training, professional socialization and nurse transition. Her publications also focus on epistemology and the socio-political aspects of care and the nursing profession.
