Biography

Dr. Gisèle Mandiangu Ntanda is a Université du Québec en Outaouais professor. Through her work, she supports the importance of tackling general social conditions to achieve significant, long-term improvements in the health of populations. She proposes, among other things, reflections on how healthcare professionals can act differently with migrant people with a colonial past. Her research interests focus on the social determinants of health, type 2 diabetes, social normativity, social inequalities in health, racial microaggressions, the social determinants of food choices, health prevention, health promotion, the therapeutic caregiver/caregiver relationship in the context of diversity, dietary, physical activity, and body norms, among others.
