Biography

Idrissa Beogo, RN, MBA, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ottawa. Trained and/or having worked in Asia (Japan and Taiwan), West Africa, and Canada (Quebec, Manitoba, and Ontario), Idrissa draws on his training in nursing, public health, and health administration, as well as his clinical, teaching and health services management experience, to enrich his courses and research on various vulnerable groups, including the elderly.

Idrissa’s experiences as a long-term care nurse, research professional (Université Laval and UQO), and postdoctoral fellow (Université Laval) have provided him with a rich human and intellectual experience. His research interests are mainly focused on international health, the health of populations in a linguistic-cultural minority context, aging, and nursing education. He is familiar with quantitative and mixed methods studies and systematic reviews and has several active projects funded by the Quebec Secretariat for Canadian Relations [psychological distress of international students], CIHR [social isolation and loneliness], SSHRC [gerontotechnology], and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
