Sharon Johnston

Biography

Dr. Sharon Johnston is the Scientific Director and Associate Vice President of Research at Institue du Savoir Montfort (ISM). She is a family physician and clinical researcher in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa and a researcher at the ISM and Bruyère Research Institute in Ottawa, Ontario. From combating health misinformation to integrating patient feedback into health system performance measurement and quality improvement, her research focuses on improving primary care. She is developing primary care’s ability to collaborate across independent practices as well as with critical partners such as public health units to transform emerging opportunities for digital patient engagement into health promotion strategies that address the information needs of diverse patient groups, including French-speaking minorities.
