Biography
Sophie Lebel has a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Université de Montréal and is currently an associate professor at the School of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ottawa. Her research centres on the psychological adjustment of persons with cancer and their natural helpers. She is especially interested in adjustment during the survival phase, and examines the various difficulties that patients encounter at this stage of their illness, such as the fear of a relapse, sexual problems, body image, spousal adjustments and the stigma related to disease.
